One of the defining achievements of the International Writers' Retreat was completing and publicly sharing the youth-authored policy brief The Earth is Speaking: A Call for Climate Justice from the Next Generation. The publication reflects the collective voices of 145 youth from eleven countries who collaborated between October 2025 and May 2026 through classroom inquiry, virtual exchanges, and collaborative dialogue. In May 2026, drawing on these shared experiences, five international students, supported by project researchers and facilitators, synthesized the collective ideas into a unified policy brief.

During the retreat, participants collaboratively reviewed, refined, and finalized the publication through discussion and collective editing. The retreat culminated in a public presentation at Edmonton City Hall, where youth shared their recommendations with stakeholders and community members. Designed to speak to educators, policymakers, researchers, community leaders, and fellow youth, the policy brief demonstrates how international collaboration can transform young people's ideas into meaningful action for climate justice.
